Good to know! Stanford undergraduates seeking summer research opportunities are encouraged to apply through programs such as the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability Summer Research Program. Undergraduates from other colleges and universities are welcome to apply for summer internships through the Stanford School of Engineering SURF program or the Doerr School of Sustainability SURGE program.

🔍 Open Positions for Master’s & Undergraduate Students at Stanford

If you're currently a student at Stanford and interested in doing research or a thesis project in the lab, please send me an email including:

  • Your academic year and major

  • A brief note on your research interests

  • Whether you are interested in doing a thesis or a research project.

  • Your career goals, for example, whether you plan to apply for an M.S./Ph.D. program or gain professional work experience after graduation

  • An estimate of the time you can commit to research alongside your coursework

We can then schedule a time to chat about projects and opportunities.

Please note, we deeply value the contributions of all team members, regardless of their academic stage. Whether you are an undergraduate, master’s student, Ph.D. student, postdoctoral scholar, or visiting researcher, your work will be recognized and treated equitably—including in decisions related to scientific publications and authorship. Your ideas, efforts, and contributions truly matter.

I am committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative research environment. If you are curious, driven, and excited to work across disciplines —and if you are self-motivated with a passion for pushing the boundaries of environmental science and engineering— I encourage you to reach out!
