Dr. Yu will develop CEE 70: Environmental Science and Engineering over the 2026–2028 summer quarters with support from the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability Teaching Grant for Excellence and Innovation in Sustainability Education. The course will be redesigned as Environmental Science, Engineering, and Sustainability.

Fundamentals of Environmental Microbiology has been approved by the curriculum committee with course number CEE 174 for undergraduate students and CEE 274 for graduate students.

Dr. Yu has been named a Terman Faculty Fellow in the Stanford School of Engineering.

The Stanford Plant-Based Diet Initiative Seed Grant will support research on agricultural chemical–gut microbiome interactions in plant-based foods.

The grant will bridge Dr. Yu’s transition to Stanford and initiate new research directions leveraging the Orbitrap Astral system.

The Yu Research Group will start at Stanford CEE in Spring 2026.
